Brighter Minds Fiji
Empowering Young Minds. Shaping Fiji’s Future.
“Recognizing the transformative power of this global neuroscience-based program, the Kimaya Group has invested extensively in bringing Brighter Minds to Fiji, supported by its hospitality operations and the generous contributions of guests who share the vision of empowering young minds.”
At Kimaya Fiji, we believe that true hospitality extends far beyond the experiences we create for our guests. It is also about the impact we leave in the communities that welcome us. Through the Kimaya Brighter Minds Trust, we are proud to support one of the most inspiring educational initiatives now growing across Fiji the Brighter Minds Program.
Brighter Minds is a globally recognized neuroscience-based cognitive development program for children aged 5 to 15 years. Designed around the most formative years of a child’s development, the program focuses on unlocking the natural potential of young minds through scientifically developed techniques that enhance memory, focus, creativity, intuition, sensory perception, and emotional balance.
The program encourages children to learn in new ways, helping them build confidence, curiosity, and a deeper connection with their learning journey. For many students, the experience becomes transformative, helping them develop stronger concentration, improved academic engagement, and a greater sense of self-belief.
A Global Program with a Local Purpose
The Brighter Minds Program is part of a global movement that recognizes the remarkable capabilities of the developing brain. Across many countries, educators and neuroscientists have explored ways to strengthen the brain’s natural abilities during childhood, a period when neural connections are forming at extraordinary speed.
In Fiji, the Kimaya Brighter Minds Trust has taken a leadership role in introducing and expanding this program, with the vision of ensuring that children across the country regardless of their background have access to opportunities that nurture their full potential.
The program has now achieved an important milestone in Fiji.
Brighter Minds has been formally approved by the Ministry of Education, Heritage and Arts as an extracurricular program, allowing schools to integrate the training as a structured activity that complements the national curriculum.
This recognition reflects both the credibility of the program and the positive results already being seen in classrooms.
A Commitment by Kimaya Fiji
The introduction and growth of the Brighter Minds initiative in Fiji has been made possible through the commitment of the Kimaya Group and its hospitality operations, together with the generosity of many individuals who share the belief that investing in young minds is one of the most powerful contributions to society.
Kimaya’s resorts including Yatule Resort & Spa, Hideaway Resort & Spa, and Landers Bay Resort & Spa, play an important role in supporting this initiative. Through voluntary guest contributions and the Group’s own investment in the program, funds are directed towards teacher training, student materials, and the expansion of the program into new schools and communities.
For many of our guests, supporting Brighter Minds becomes a meaningful way to contribute to the future of Fiji during their stay with us.
Building a Movement Across Schools
Since its introduction, the program has steadily expanded across various schools and communities.
Through the Trust’s efforts:
- Teachers have been trained and certified as Brighter Minds facilitators, allowing the program to be delivered sustainably within schools.
- Hundreds of students across Fiji are now actively participating in the program, with many already graduating from the training.
- Schools including Vaturu District School, Andhra Sangam schools, and St. Mina Home Orphanage have embraced the program and demonstrated outstanding engagement and results.
- Several teachers now conduct weekly classes and community learning sessions, including weekend programs for students eager to continue their development.
The Trust also provides student learning kits, training materials, and program support to ensure that children from all communities, including rural and disadvantaged areas can participate.
The Impact on Young Minds
Teachers and parents consistently report powerful changes in the students participating in the program.
Children demonstrate improved:
- Concentration and focus in the classroom
- Confidence and self-expression
- Curiosity and enthusiasm for learning
- Creativity and problem-solving abilities
- Emotional awareness and resilience
Many students who initially struggled with attention or self-belief have shown remarkable improvement in both their academic performance and personal development.
More importantly, the program nurtures qualities that go beyond education empathy, imagination, confidence, and leadership, the very attributes needed to shape a stronger and more innovative future for Fiji.

Brighter Minds Fiji
A Story of Transformation
At a children’s home in Fiji, one young student quietly joined the Brighter Minds training sessions introduced through the Kimaya Brighter Minds Trust.
Like many children who have experienced challenging circumstances early in life, the student often struggled with concentration and confidence in the classroom. Learning required patience and encouragement, and progress sometimes came slowly.
When the child began participating in the Brighter Minds Program, the experience started as simple curiosity joining the exercises along with other students during the weekly sessions.
Over the weeks something remarkable began to unfold.
The Brighter Minds teacher observed a growing ability to focus during the program’s sensory and concentration exercises. The student became more engaged and attentive during sessions, demonstrating increasing confidence in participating with the group.
The change was also noticed by the home teacher, who began observing improvements in discipline, attentiveness, and willingness to participate in daily activities within the home environment.
Soon after, the classroom teacher at school reported similar changes. The student showed greater concentration during lessons, improved participation in class discussions, and a noticeable increase in enthusiasm for learning.
Over time, these changes translated into better academic engagement and improved classroom performance.
What was most encouraging for the teachers and caregivers was not just the improvement in discipline and focus, but the transformation in the student’s sense of self-belief. The child began approaching learning with greater curiosity and confidence.
Today, that same student participates actively in both school and Brighter Minds sessions, proudly demonstrating the exercises learned and encouraging other students to try them as well.
This story represents just one example of the many quiet transformations taking place through the Brighter Minds initiative in Fiji.
For educators, caregivers, and parents, these moments reaffirm a powerful truth, when young minds are given the right tools, encouragement, and environment, they can discover abilities far beyond what they once believed possible.
